Whats' New

8/25/10  My new Photo Etch parts are now available. You can see a photo of them on the Custom Parts page as well as price and ordering info.

Yesterday, our hobby lost a dear friend. Mike Adams of Salt Lake City passed away on 8/24/10 after a battle with cancer. Mike was always a true friend, a mentor to many, and an inspiration to all of us who dabble in fire apparatus kit bashing. Mike will be missed by all.

7/31/10  I have returned from the second annual FireEngines.net event in Meriden Ct. It was a huge success. I got to meet so many of my customers, some that we have emailed back and forth for years. It was such a pleasure to be included with all of the talent that was on hand to display models. I am looking forward to 2011 and the next meet. I will be submitting the new artwork for the grille correction for the my new line of photo etch parts on Monday. I would expect them to be finished and available in about three weeks. The set will include the grilles shown on the parts page, plus three more to make KME trucks from Code 3 cabs. The new police detail sheet is available, and it came out just fantastic. Now you can super detail those FRR Crown Vics, Magnums and soon to be released Diplomats. There is something on that sheet for everyone, including the fire apparatus model builder. And finally, Miami-Dade is available. It turned out great as well. You will be able to model Miami Dade and Metro Dade rigs from the 60's to today's most modern rigs. As always, thank you so much for the continued support. Rich

7/10/10 My latest decal sheet, FD-19 Miami Dade Fire Department is printed. I will have them available for the first time at the FireEngines.net annual meet in Meriden Connecticut on July 17th. I will also have samples of my new photo etch truck grille's in 1/64 scale for viewing. There was an artwork error on the photo etch that was not caught in time. I have to run one of the four grille's over again before I can release these for sale. They do look good on a 1/64 scale Code 3 Pierce cab. If you have idea's for photo etch parts or decals, I would love to hear from you. I look forward to seeing you all in Meriden on the 17th.

6/15/10  Check the Custom Parts page for the first look at an all new product. I will offering photo etch 1/64 scale grilles for the KME and Spartan trucks. I hope to have these new grilles with me at the 2nd Annual FireEngines.net event in Meriden Connecticut in July. Price has not been determined yet, as they are still being made. Stay tuned for updates. My next decal sheet to print is FD-19 Miami Dade Fire Department. This sheet will have decals for every version of Miami Dade and Metro Dade fire from the 1960's to the current markings. I also hope to have this sheet available in July. And a new police sheet is in the works. A police detail sheet in 1/43 scale for the custom police car modeler. Check out the decal page for a pre-printing proof photo. This detail sheet will have mirror LED decals, traffic vests, Stop Stix decals, computer screens, scripts for your FRR replica's that you have repainted, as well as the scripts for the upcoming Diplomats. This detail sheet will enable you to take those custom police projects to an all new level.

5/23/10  Artwork is complete on Denver and Miami Dade. It is now in the correction and lay up stage. I hope to send both off to the printer this coming week. I plan to have them with me for the July FireEngines.net event in Meriden Connecticut. InQuarters will be on hand at this event, which is the second annual FireEngines.net event. I will have an InQuarters display and will be taking a few kit bashes and cutom models for display as well. I hope to meet a few of you who have indicated to me that you will be there. I have a firm commitment to produce Pittsburg Fire Department and hope to send that off to the artist this month, for a late summer delivery. Things are still very slow in the hobby, but I do see some signs that it will pick up a little. Thanks again for all of the support.

3/6/10 Some items are no longer available from the 1/64 scale fire decal line, and all future police printings are in doubt as well. The hobby industry is still in a slump and it does not look to get better very soon.

A potential flood of items getting ready to hit an auction site in the next few weeks will draw much unneeded negative attention to our hobby. And another round of public attacks on myself, my products and now my customers on a hobby related internet forum from a few that only serve to cause trouble or only wish to spread ill will or destroy our hobby, and you can probably understand why high quality commercially screen printed decals may not have much of a future here for the public. I sure wish I had good news to post for once, but sadly things do not look very good at all. I am always available to chat with you all about it, and I would like to thank my many loyal customers, for without you all, none of this would have been possible. Rich
